The MPS C and MPS D generations look similar, but are different in their details.

MPS C contains the concept of modularity at station level. MPS C stations can be used at different points within an MPS system. Despite the modular character of the system, MPS C stations are relatively static, which can be seen, e.g. in the front part wiring of an MPS C station.

MPS D has the concept of modularity and thus significantly got it expanded. The structure of MPS stations has been completely revised and divided into individual MPS modules with uniform interfaces. The learning concept of MPS D provides that the MPS stations, as they are divided into modules, are a part of the learning process and the students have smaller and comprehensible learning units in front of them, in order to keep up with the increasing technological complexity.

With a largely tool-free design, the idea of Plug&Learn as a modular learning concept is consistently being implemented in MPS D.
